These two photographs of the same venue were taken fifty-three (53) years apart!
The first photo was taken by my uncle in 1959 when I was just one (1) year old, at Peñaranda Park, Legazpi City, Philippines. The second photo was taken by me lately. I took the shot from the approximate spot where my late uncle stood to take the first photo then.
At the background is the Cathedral of St. Gregory the Great, whose facade and belfry has not really changed through the years, while the Park has undergone major changes in 53 years time. See the contrast between the two photos?
Ahh, how Time flies, indeed…
PASSAGE OF TIME
(Time’s passage means dosage of age.)
OLD vine and Time entwine
a rhyme sublime
for what makes vine twist and climb
if not the passage of Time?
OLD wine in oakwood hollow
an idiom not shallow
so what makes wine age and mellow
if not the passage of Time?
OLD comets leave then return anew
a cycle always true
then what makes them appear when due
if not the passage of Time?
OLD wounds beget scar or stain
the plain stamp of pain
but what makes pain heal and wane
if not the passage of Time?
OLD we grow, in time regret
an adage not secret
and what makes us frail and forget
if not the passage of Time?
OLD Time flies in trip boundless
a journey limitless
what goes by that is just endless?
only the passage of Time.
- between young and old is Time.
