We come to know light by darkness.
Illumination though, is both inner and outer.
Inner radiance is brighter than outer brilliance.
Enlightenment is deepest coming from within.”
- Chito L. Aguilar
LIGHT
[a nonet*]
light
showers
on our lives
bathing the sham
washing the charade
dousing the masquerade
in our shadows of pretense
till they flush into dark gutters
and dissolve in the limbo of farce.
(between
fake and genuine
is repute.
between
false and true
is refute.)
- dispute
is between
repute and refute.
- illumination
is between
reflection and meditation.

An excellent poem! Your word choice is inspiring and your subject is profound.
Muchas Gracias, Elena!
I appreciate your gentle words very much.
I feel happy you find my poem inspiring.
I love the photos. And your poem also- light does show us the truth. Maybe that’s why so many of us avoid it.
Thanks for the comment.
Yes, human as we are; fallible,
and yet, light illuminates and
beacons us along the way…
Some of them were quite trippy
.
With so much Light in the world, I am wondering why there is seemingly so much darkness in the hearts of many.
Your poem is excellence itself, Chito…and the shots are really very fine!
Thank you very much my dear friend!
I agree with your observation: Darkness amidst light…
To illuminate (the hearts of many who never see the light)
seems to be a perpetual pursuit. For as long as there is
tempest in man’s heart, the cult of tumult (darkness) remains.
We salute the torch-bearers of our times who never tire
to guide lost souls. May their tribe increase.
Have a happy weekend.
very very creative words and images – enjoyed reading and observing your images.
