We can save our love
We still have the time
There must be a way
We still haven’t tried
To keep our hearts from breaking
Everytime two fools collide.”
- fr. lyrics of ‘Everytime Two Fools Collide’, Kenny Rogers
EBBING TIDE
(When we, at times collide…)
(… like sub-atomic particles in fission
we generate tremendous energy-heat
when we smash together in clean collision -
a fusion no nuclear reactor can beat.)
Ebbing tide now beckons humbly
to us like the failing wishes in our
confused hearts. The outgoing waters
entreat to our furtive longings
as timid seagulls depart, leaving us
in endemic silence to lick our wounds.
Right or wrong, our blemished souls
are left scarred,
fading with the tide…
- between
altar and alter
is ebbing tide.
- between
raving raven and seething seagull
is revving pride.

Photo’s and poem both superb.
Thanks Kim.
I’m happy you’re doing fine. Enjoy your day.
The poem and pictures really are incredible. There is just something about the sea.
Hi Elyse,
I have always been fascinated by the sea and the tide.
My home province is blessed with beautiful beaches.
Thank you!
Glorious words of love, mi amigo, accompanied by these splendid images. It is wonderful how your heart, mind, and eyes work so well together to create more beauty in our world. Muchas gracias, caro Chito!!!
Muchas gracias, mi amiga! Muy bien!
Your kind words inspire me in cyberspace.
Indeed, the Net is a good avenue where we can share
our hearts and minds.
De nada, caro…verdad es verdad, si?
Si seῆora…
Stunning photographs – the colours are sublime – that beach looks divine. Loving your words too – as always they compliment your photographs!
(So are you the Raven or the Seagull?)
Hi Alex,
Thank you so much for your very candid observation.
You are very keen, indeed. Well, “Raven” and “Seagull” were two women
who rave and seethe like the ebb and flow of the tide.
Aha! okay!!
Phew – one you have your work cut out with one woman – two – you must be a brave man!
I think I am more of a sparrow – chirpy and busy!!
Yup… I think you are right. Hmm.
And I agree, you must be a sparrow;
nice metaphor on being busy and happy
at same time.
