Twin Twiddles

“Full many a gem of purest ray serene,
The dark unfathom’d caves of ocean bear:
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen
And waste its sweetness on the desert air.”

– fr. Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, Thomas Gray

(The twins in Life remain;
as yin-yang, man-woman,
night-day, negative-positive…)

(Yes, they come in pairs;
in contrast, like my twin sons…)

the air we breathe is free for all
though it is never seen at all

the seven colors of rainbow
are never seen without the bow

many jewels are there to see
but they are hidden in the sea

dreams happen only as we sleep
awake! We live to love so deep

to be played, a song must have notes
to be read, a poem must have quotes

birds can fly with bones so hollow
men can’t try with minds so narrow

life is a ladder with no rung
that one cannot climb in high-strung
